The National Dance Institute raised more than $1.5 million at its 42nd Annual gala on April 30. The proceeds will benefit the nonprofit’s arts education programs. Three-time Tony Award nominee Terrence Mann hosted the event, which featured about 500 guests, dinner, an auction and plenty of cocktails. Actress Bebe Neuwirth was also honored at the event, according to a press release.
The New York City Independent Budget Office has a slick new report detailing what services are provided by New York City’s senior centers. A new bill introduced to the City Council would require the Department for the Aging to issue an annual report with details about 250 centers spread throughout the city. About $100 million was spent on them in fiscal year 2017, according to the new report, serving nearly 30,000 seniors each day.
