I’m excited to announce that Amanda Luz Henning Santiago will serve as NYN Media’s new editor. In this new role, she will be responsible for the NYN First Read newsletter and will use her branding skills to reimagine our coverage of nonprofit news in the future. Amanda brings with her experience as a staff reporter at our sister publication City & State magazine and will lead efforts to transform NYN Media’s brand and reporting on the nonprofit sector.

After two years as NYN Media’s staff reporter, I am also transitioning to a new role at City & State as an associate editor writing, researching and editing our lists. I’m proud to have covered the nonprofit sector, particularly during such unprecedented times, and am grateful to all the folks who have shared their stories with me throughout my tenure at NYN Media. (You can read more of my outgoing thoughts on NYN Media’s work on page 58 of City & State magazine’s 15th anniversary issue). And I look forward to seeing what’s next for the publication as Amanda takes the helm.

If you have pitches, op-ed submissions or suggestions for how we should adjust our newsletter or coverage in the future, please feel free to get in touch with her at ahenning@govexec.com. Please join me in congratulating Amanda on her new role!
