Mark-Viverito Asks Council For Budget Priorities

Perhaps as an attempt to live up to her promise of running a more inclusive City Council, Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito is soliciting input from all 51 Council members as to their legislative and budget priorities for the current legislative session in Albany and Washington.

City & State obtained an email sent by Howard Pollack, the deputy director of the Council's Community Outreach Division, with an attached form for members to fill out their priorities.

Also attached in the email was a letter signed by Mark-Viverito, Finance Committee Chair Julissa Ferreras, and Councilwoman Karen Koslowitz, who chairs the State and Federal Legislation Committee.

"These agendas will serve as the centerpiece of our lobbying efforts in the upcoming year as we work together to urge lawmakers to take action on issues critical to our city," the letter reads.
