Kathy Rosenthal Joins Family Service League

Family Service League, which operates 50 social service programs primarily in Suffolk County, announced Kathy Rosenthal as a senior vice president for programs on June 8.

"I have long admired the work of Family Service League,” Rosenthal said in a press release, “and am enthusiastic about helping to develop and grow programs to serve children and families throughout Long Island.”

Rosenthal, who is a licensed clinical social worker, has 20 years of experience in the nonprofit human and social services industry. She served as the senior vice president for family services for the Federation Employment & Guidance Service. Her responsibilities included overseeing the day-to-day operations of family, youth and volunteer programs and the management of a $7 million budget.

Rosenthal was also a lecturer at Stony Brook University, teaching in the School of Social Welfare, and she worked for the anti-defamation league where she facilitated workshops for young people convicted of bias crimes and delivered curriculum training on homophobia.

She has served on the boards of the Health & Welfare Council of Long Island, the Suffolk Community Council, Herstory Writers Workshop and was chairwomen for the UJA-Federation Family Violence Task Force. She was the president of the Agency Executive Council of the United Way of Long Island and is a member of the Hofstra University Master Public Health Advisory Board.
