Dan Arshack Esq, the recently appointed president of the Center for Community Alternatives' board, talks with NYN Media about onboarding a new executive director and navigating the challenging transition away from being a founder-driven board. “Like many founder/director boards, they were often rubber stamp,” Arshack said. “It was a happy group of people who were friendly with the founder director and were there because they were friendly with the founder director - and there were no major mistakes made - but there was a lack of granular understanding of the organization’s finances.”
