NYN Media Podcast on Workforce Development
Being able to identify and predict trends in the labor market is key to a successful workforce development program. During this podcast we talk with leaders who have worked to master the skill. We’re At the Board Table with Board Chair Lewis Miller of Per Scholas - a nonprofit started and based in the South Bronx and led by Executive Director Plinio Ayala. Per Scholas now works in urban areas across the country training primarily low-income individuals of color for IT sector jobs. In part 2 we’re in the CEO Corner with Barbara Chang, former CEO of the nonprofit Code to Work, who is Mayor de Blasio’s recent appointee to serve as Executive Director of his Office of Workforce Development. In both segments we talk about building successful training programs and building the kinds of partnerships with the city and local employers that will make your program successful.
New York Nonprofit Media regularly interviews nonprofit leaders to discuss their professional experience, lessons learned, perspectives on the industry and more. To recommend a candidate for our CEO Corner, contact Dan Rosenblum at drosenblum@nynmedia.com.
