Low-income people and families living with HIV/AIDS will get some rental assistance via Hispanic AIDS Forum, according to the City Record. The Bronx-based nonprofit scored a two-year contract renewal with the city Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. A total cost for the contract was not included in the post. Meanwhile, the Manhattan-based Tempositions Health Care landed a $1.8 million contract to provide chaperone and child care services on behalf of the Administration for Children’s Services, according to the City Record.
New York City-based Odyssey Impact has been busy trying to inspire criminal justice reform through film. Their latest documentary concerns the ZIP code with the highest rate of incarceration, and is aptly titled Milwaukee 53206. The film premiered last month. Here is a trailer:
Good Tidings Foundation showed off a renovated teen center in the Bronx on May 11. A press release states that work at Columbus Clubhouse will benefit members of Madison Square Boys & Girls Club – but first it drew a little star power. New York Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia came by for the ribbon cutting ceremony. A $130,000 donation funded the work, according to the press release.
Some rounds of golf helped the Long Island-based EAC Network raise nearly $164,000 at its 29th annual fundraiser. The money will help support at-risk children, families and seniors, according to a press release. Read more here.
The Williams F. Ryan Community Health Network has a new name. A May 15 press release states that the organization is rebranding as Ryan Health with the new tagline: “Caring for New York. Here for you.” The organization operates six community health centers in Manhattan.
