Planned Parenthood of Greater NY completes renovations to Bronx and Brooklyn Health Centers

Planned Parenthood of Greater New York has expanded and modernized its Bronx and Brooklyn Health Centers with a focus on enhancing the patient experience. Additional clinical space, exam rooms, as well as upgraded clinician stations and counseling rooms are among the improvements. The Brooklyn Health Center, otherwise known as the Joan Malin Brooklyn Health Center, will feature new paint colors and graphics.

“This is an extremely proud moment for Planned Parenthood of Greater New York,” said Joy D. Calloway, Interim President & CEO of Planned Parenthood of Greater New York. “We are excited to welcome patients into these stunning new spaces. Upgrades to the Bronx and Brooklyn health centers will allow us to enhance patient care, decrease wait times, expand services, and improve the overall patient experience.”

“The modern layout and warm design of the health centers say to our patients, all are welcome in this place of high-quality, accessible, and equitable health care,” she added.

PPGNY partnered with Denham Wolf , a real estate advisor, to assist with the plan to expand the centers in 2019. The partnership began in 2013 with the opening of the Diane L. Max Health Center in Long Island City. 

The Bronx Health Center opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, with Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson on hand to give PPGNY a citation for its years of commitment to serving Bronx residents. 

PPGNY also provides other patient care, such as cancer screenings, birth control, emergency contraception, STI testing and treatment, HIV testing and prevention, transgender/nonbinary hormone therapy, pregnancy testing, and options counseling, abortion care, among other services.
