NYN Media Insights Podcast on policy, ethics and partnerships

With federal and state funding as well as policies uncertain, how should nonprofits respond?

In the first half of our podcast, we speak to Sharon Stapel, who leads the Nonprofit Coordinating Committee of New York, which hosts workshops and advocates for its 1,450 member groups across the New York City area. She talks about the opposition to state ethics laws, potential federal rules that could affect charitable giving and why nonprofits need a “bill of rights.”

In our second half, Common Impact’s CEO Danielle Holly, joins us for a podcast about engaging corporate volunteers. At a time when nonprofits struggle to subsidize their overhead expenses, Common Impact’s mission is to match volunteers from private corporations who have skills in areas such as marketing, strategic planning or human resources, with nonprofits who could benefit.
