is New York state senator for the 20th Senate District, which includes parts of Brownsville, Crown Heights, East Flatbush, Gowanus, Park Slope, Prospect Heights, Prospect Lefferts Gardens, South Slope and Sunset Park. He is chairman of the Elections Committee.
