Three people have joined the board at SAGE. Dawn Fischer is a registered nurse with years of experience working at facilities in New York, California and the U.K. She previously served on the board and is a member of the Board of Trustees at The Packer Collegiate School in Brooklyn. Carlene Jadusingh is an attorney who specializes in civil litigation and immigration law. Myron Sulzberger Rolfe is president and founder of an eponymous theatrical design representation firm in New York City. Read more about them here.

 

The New York City Department of Social Services is looking to renew a contract with Sanctuary for Families. A post in the City Record states that the three-year contract for non-residential services for victims of domestic violence would apply retroactively from April 1, 2018 onward. No financial total was disclosed for the contract. The department has also awarded a $1.49 million contract to New York Legal Assistance Group. The money will fund the legal services for immigrants through the Immigration Opportunity Initiative Program from Jan. 1, 2018 through June of next year. Food Bank for New York City will also do a SNAP outreach plan for the department, per a $187,500 contract.

 

A longtime figure in the upstate nonprofit sector is retiring. Friday, Oct. 5 will be the last day for Mary Marshall, executive director of Catholic Charities Community Services of Dutchess County. She started out with the nonprofit as a volunteer in 1993, rising to lead the organization in 2012. Here’s the full account of her work there and the other roles she has had in the community.
